OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Illinois State senior baseball player Jacob Hendren has been named a candidate for the Senior CLASS Award, an honor recognizing Division I student-athletes who have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
An acronym for "Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School," the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities. Hendren is one of 30 candidates for the award.
A native of Le Roy, Illinois, Hendren made a splash in his first season at Illinois State in 2015, earning All-Missouri Valley Conference First-Team honors, while being named the league's Newcomer of the Year.
