After struggling late in games its past couple outings, the Illinois State men’s basketball team was able to finally put it all together Sunday afternoon triumphing over Murray State in a 63-61 home victory.
“It’s been a long season, we’ve learned a lot,” junior transfer Nick Banyard said. “It was a good win, probably our best win of the season. This will definitely help us going forward.”
ISU’s season leading scorer DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell was contained by the Racers’ 2-3 zone being limited to just two points at the half. He finished with 11 total points shooting 50 percent (5-of-10) from the field.
