NORMAL — Freshman forward Elvis Harvey has decided to leave Illinois State's basketball program, Redbird coach Dan Muller announced Friday.
The 6-foot-8 Harvey, a native of South Bay, Fla., was redshirting this season. Although he did not play in games, Harvey was practicing and traveling with the team.
“I have decided to leave the basketball program so I can focus on some personal things and to also move closer to home,” said Harvey, who signed with ISU last spring out of Oxbridge Academy. “I want to thank the university and the coaches for all they have done for me here, and it will not go unappreciated.
