NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State set a season-best score in a win at Northern Illinois last Friday night, thanks to the efforts of Reese Grolla and Jaly Jones who were each selected on Wednesday as Midwest Independent Conference (MIC) weekly award honorees.
Grolla took home MIC Performance of the Week honors for her work on the balance beam, while transfer Jaly Jones netted her third-straight MIC Newcomer of the Week honors for her strong performance in the meet.
The Redbirds posted a season-high score of 196.150 against NIU, the fourth-highest team score in program history, thanks in part to a stellar performance by Grolla.
