VALPARAISO, Ind. — Simone Goods tied her career-high of 30 points as the Illinois State women's basketball team defeated Valparaiso, 70-67, in a Missouri Valley Conference game on Sunday at the Athletics-Recreation Center.
Goods was 12-of-15 from the floor for the hot-shooting Redbirds (11-9, 4-5 MVC), who were 8-of-10 from the field in the second quarter and shot at a 68.2 percent clip in the first half. They ended the game at 59.1 percent, their best performance from the field this season.
ISU's field goal accuracy in the second quarter helped them extend their 15-14 first quarter lead into a 39-28 halftime advantage.
