ST. LOUIS – Behind a weekend in which he averaged a team-best 17.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game, Illinois State junior forward Keith Fisher III was named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week.
It is the first career MVC honor for Fisher, who made 13-of-25 of his shots from the field (52%), 8-of-10 from the free throw line, and his only three-point attempt.
In the week-opening win over Evansville he scored 16 points with nine rebounds. He made 6-of-14 shots from the field against the Aces and was 4-of-5 from the free throw line.
