PEORIA — Sunday's short trip to Bradley's Renaissance Coliseum could have long term negative effects for the Illinois State women's basketball team.
The Redbirds damaged their hopes for a top four seed in the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament with a 70-65 upset loss to Bradley that snapped a nine-game winning streak over the Braves.
"We were missing something, a little sense of urgency," ISU coach Kristen Gillespie said. "That's the frustrating thing as a coach. We were playing for so much. You're on top of the world Thursday (a win over Belmont) then this happens."
The Redbirds slipped to 17-10 overall and into a tie for fourth with Belmont at 11-5.
