Illinois State football coach Brock Spack doesn’t doubt Bohlken. He just isn’t ready to place all the responsibilities of serving as the Redbird punter, place-kicker and kickoff man on Bohlken’s shoulders.
Spack announced Tuesday that junior transfer Sam Fenlason will be ISU’s kicker for field goals and extra points and kick off in Saturday’s 6:30 p.m. season opener against Saint Xavier at Hancock Stadium. Bohlken will serve as the Redbird punter.
Fenlason is a 6-foot-2, 225-pound transfer from Idaho. He redshirted in 2015, kicked off once in 2016 for a touchback and did not play last season.
