NORMAL, Ill. – Just two weeks from its 2021 season opener at home against Butler, the Illinois State football team took the turf at Hancock Stadium Saturday afternoon for its second scrimmage of fall camp.
Scrimmage Notes:
• The scrimmage went 6 plays, with all three units getting reps and opportunities in the various scenarios.
• Situations practiced included coffin punts, kickoff returns and coverage, driving the field, a four-minute drive and an overtime scenario.
• The Redbird rushing attack was efficient on the day, averaging 3.8 yards per carry on the ground.
