PEORIA, IL – Held to two runs on five hits through the first eight innings, Evansville (14-9, 3-0 MVC) rallied for four runs on four hits off Bradley closer Allan Beer to complete a weekend Missouri Valley Conference baseball sweep with a 6-4 victory Sunday afternoon at Dozer Park.
Beer entered the game 2-0 with five saves, a 0.82 earned run average and a .179 opponent batting average, but the Aces were not rattled. Evansville needed just three pitches to put runners on the corners with no outs, then got a fielder's choice ground ball to pull within 4-3.
