Colorado State is set to hire Drake coach Niko Medved as its next men’s basketball head coach, according to a report in the Loveland (Colo.) Reporter-Herald.
If true, Medved would become the second Drake coach in the past decade to jump to another job after just one season in Des Moines. Keno Davis coached Drake to its last Missouri Valley Conference championship in 2007-08 and then took the Providence job.
Medved would replace Larry Eustachy, who was forced to resign last month amidst the school’s second investigation of his verbally abusive behavior in the past four years.
