PEORIA — After four consecutive second-half swoons — the last three resulting in defeats — it was time for Bradley to take a different approach.
Instead of BU coach Brian Wardle riding his main guys for long stretches Wednesday against Illinois State, there was first-half relief from the bench.
And it resulted in second-half energy instead of lethargy as the Braves held off a second-half Illinois State charge for a 70-58 victory. It was the first BU win over ISU since 2014, ending an eight-game skid.
“I felt like it helped us a little in the second half, especially Darrell (Brown), who had more pop in his step,” said BU coach Brian Wardle.
