NORMAL – Illinois State shot well and scored well against the Missouri Valley Conference’s best defensive team Wednesday at CEFCU Arena.

When Drake shot and scored even better against the Redbirds, the result was an 84-77 Bulldogs’ victory before a crowd of 4,122.

“I give them credit. That’s a really good team, 23-2 for a reason,” ISU coach Ryan Pedon said. “For anybody to beat them, you’ve got to bring you’re A game.
