NORMAL — Illinois State defensive coordinator Spence Nowinsky has left the Redbird football staff for a coaching opportunity at a higher level, ISU head coach Brock Spack confirmed Tuesday.
Nowinsky has served as Redbird defensive line coach for the past nine seasons, Spack's entire tenure at ISU. Nowinsky has been the team's defensive coordinator the last four years.
Spack said Nowinsky left "on very good terms. I appreciate everything Spence has done here, and I wish nothing but the best for him and his family."
