SPRINGFIELD, MO - In a game that spanned 4-hours, 40-minutes, thanks to 31 hits and two rain delays, No. 2 seed and 29th-ranked Dallas Baptist (37-19) outlasted No. 7 seed Bradley (20-30) 15-9 Wednesday afternoon and evening at Hammons Field.
Although Bradley scored in each of the first five innings, Dallas Baptist rode a 5-run fourth inning to the win. The Patriots roughed up relief pitcher Nathan Stong (L 3-5) with five hits in the inning, highlighted by Tim Millard's 3-run home run that gave DBU its lasting lead, 9-6. Overall, the Patriots banged out 19 hits, including three home runs, against a trio of Bradley pitchers.
