SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Illinois State women's basketball team fell to No. 21/24 Missouri State, 87-74, on Sunday afternoon at JQH Arena in Springfield, Missouri. The Redbirds drop to 13-7 (5-4 MVC) on the season while the Lady Bears improve to 18-3 (8-1 MVC) and remain at the top of the Missouri Valley Conference standings.
Fifth-year senior Lexi Wallen led all scorers, recording a game-high 25 points, grabbing six rebounds and adding an assist in 38 minutes played. Redshirt freshman Mary Crompton proved a huge factor down the stretch, setting career-highs in points (18) and three-pointers (six).
