AUSTIN, Texas – For the second straight year, Illinois State sharpshooter Mary Crompton is one of 16 women's basketball student-athletes to be named a CSC Academic All-American for the 2022-23 season, as announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Wednesday.
Crompton becomes the first ever Redbird in program history to be named Academic All-America First Team, only one season after collecting Academic All-America Third Team honors. Only Crompton and Beth Landes Ehresman (1980) have been honored with Academic All-America honors in program history.
Crompton, who was recently named the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second time in her ISU career, is one of five student-athletes on the list who maintains a perfect 4.
