ST. LOUIS – Illinois State softball's Andrea Coursey has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week. It's the first career weekly honor for the senior and final weekly accolade given by the Valley this season.
Coursey helped the Redbirds power past Valparaiso this weekend, as Illinois State captured the MVC regular season title. The senior boasted a team-best .545 batting average with a team-high eight RBIs in three starts at designated player. Coursey, who extended her hitting streak to eight games, turned in three multi-hit games while launching a pair of three-RBI homers in the final two games of the series.
