ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Illinois State sophomore gymnast Gabrielle Cooke was named the Midwest Independent Conference Gymnast of the Year Thursday night, at a banquet held the night before the start of the MIC Championships at Hyland Arena.
A three-time MIC Performer of the Week in 2018, Cooke has been one of the top all-around gymnasts in the conference this season. The Chicago, Illinois, native has recorded five scores of 38.850, and has scored over 39.000 in the all-around in three meets this season. Her season-high all-around score of 39.250 tied for second in the conference this year, and she is currently ranked second in the MIC with a 38.
