College Report: IWU women's soccer headed for NCAA tourney

Illinois Wesleyan's women's soccer team won on penalty kicks late Saturday night to earn the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Tournament championship over Wheaton.

IWU improved to 13-4-2 and earned the league's automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Pairings will be announced Monday.

The Titans' goal in regulation was scored by Rosie Pettenuzzo. Wheaton (16-3-2) got its goal from Chelsea Gnan.

After two overtime periods the match was decided in a shootout, with IWU prevailing 5-4.
