Illinois State women's golfer Ali Schrock ended tied for sixth and just two strokes behind the leader following the opening round of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational on Monday at Kapolei, Hawaii.
Schrock, a freshman from Pontiac, carded an even-par 72 to trail first-round leader Cloe Grand of Sacramento State and four others. The second round is slated for Tuesday and the final 18 holes for Wednesday.

Illinois State shot a 306 and was 11th among the 14 teams in the tournament. Sam Houston State leads after a round of 289.
