Illinois State's men's golf team, led by Trent Wallace's 3-under par 137, was in second place Monday after two rounds of the 17-team Ram Masters Invitational at the Fort Collins (Colo.) Country Club.
Wallace shot 70-67 and was tied for fourth place heading into Tuesday's final 18 holes. The Redbirds' David Perkins fired rounds of 68-70 and was tied for seventh with a 138 total.
ISU shot 280-278 for a 558 total that trailed only host Colorado State's 547. The individual leader was Wyoming's Dan Starzinski at 7-under 133 (67-66).
Also in the top 20 for Illinois State were David Rauer at 141 (tied for 16th) and Joel Durnford at 142 (tied for 19th).
