Illinois State standout cornerback Davontae Harris has been named to the watch list for the STATS FCS Buck Buchanan Award, which goes annually to the FCS Defensive Player of the Year.
Harris is the first Redbird defender named to the list since 2013, when All-American Colton Underwood was a finalist for the second year in a row.
Harris previously received STATS FCS Preseason All-America second-team honors and was selected to the Missouri Valley Football Conference preseason team. He was a 2016 All-MVFC First-Team selection, ranking No. 1 in the MVFC in passes defended with 15 (13 PBU, 2 INT).
