Illinois State's volleyball team opened its season with a pair of four-set victories Friday in the North Texas Invitational at Denton, Texas.
Monica Miller had 14 kills to lead ISU to a 19-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-16 win over Tulsa in the second match of the day. Kaylee Martin added 12 kills and Sydney Holt 10. Stef Jankiewicz had 44 assists and 10 digs, while Kendal Meier had a team-high 15 digs.
ISU coach Leah Johnson was pleased with the way ISU rebounded from its first set loss to the Golden Hurricane.
"I thought in set one, Tulsa had all cylinders clicking," she said.
