TULSA, Okla. — After battling through a pair of scoreless overtime periods, the Illinois State women's soccer team played Tulsa to a 1-1 draw on Sunday at Hurricane Soccer Stadium.
A goal by senior Angel Krell on an assist from Sarah LaFayette in the 18th minute of the game gave ISU a 1-0 halftime lead.
Tulsa, which had a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks, tied the game midway through the second half when Hurricane freshman Alijah Oliver scored her first career goal.
Junior Haley Smith, the reigning Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week, played the entire 110 minutes in goal and recorded six saves, two of them in the overtime sessions.
