College report 6/2/16: Grigsby on College Hall of Fame ballot

Former Illinois State standout linebacker Boomer Grigsby was among the players listed Wednesday on the 2017 ballot for induction in the College Football Hall of Fame.

Grigsby was a three-time first team All-American in the Football Championship Subdivision from 2002-04. He holds the career FCS records for total tackles (550) and solo tackles (325).

The Canton native joins a ballot list of 75 players and six coaches from the Bowl Subdivision, as well as 94 players and 29 coaches from the divisional ranks.

The 2017 class will be announced in January, with the induction ceremony scheduled for Dec.
