Led by individual leader David Rauer, Illinois State's men's golf team grabbed the lead after two rounds of the Missouri Valley Conference Championships at The Club at Porto Cima in Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.
Rauer shot rounds of 66 and 75 to sit at 141, one stroke ahead of Southern Illinois' Mathis Besard and Missouri State's Kory Franks.
Rauer led the Redbirds to a 285-292-577 total, with Southern Illinois one shot back after shooting 291-287-578. Missouri State was in third place at 591 entering Tuesday's final round.
"David Rauer's play was big time today," ISU coach Ray Kralis said.
