Missouri State's baseball team pounded out 26 hits in sweeping a Missouri Valley Conference doubleheader from Illinois State, 6-3 and 12-3, at Springfield, Mo.
ISU had five hits in each game while falling to 14-22 overall and 4-8 in the Valley.
The Bears (25-11, 7-1) had 11 hits in the opener and 15 in the second game. Colton Johnson (2-2) took the loss in relief in the first game, while starter Matt Walker (4-1) was the losing pitcher in game two.
Joe Aeilts had two hits in each game for the Redbirds. Derek Parola slugged a two-run homer for ISU in the nightcap.
