The Illinois State baseball team pieced together six singles, an error and a fielder's choice to score six runs in the ninth inning Monday before holding on for a 6-3 win over Central Arkansas in the finale of a four-game series at Conway, Ark.
Joe Aeilts and Jeremy Gaines each had three hits, including run-scoring singles in the ninth, that helped the Redbirds to a split of the series and a 5-2 overall record.
ISU pounded out 13 hits in support of three Redbird pitchers with Jordan Libman, Joe Butler and Tyson Hays each contributing two base hits.
