The Illinois State gymnastics team notched a season-high score, but fell to host Eastern Michigan, 194.000 to 192.550, on Thursday at Ypsilanti, Mich.
“We started off on bars, and it was a solid event,” ISU head coach Bob Conkling said. “We didn’t count a fall, and it went that way all the way through the meet. We scored higher than we did in the last meet, and we’re on the upswing. We should be scoring higher, but we’re on the right track.”
The Redbirds were led by sophomore all-arounder Gabrielle Cooke, who finished second with a season-high 39.
