CHAMPAIGN — Illinois State sophomore Ashlee Stieler won the pentathlon on the opening day of the Illini Invitational indoor track meet on Friday.
Stieler scored a personal-record 3,523 points after notching personal bests in four of the five events. Her score ranks seventh in ISU history. Teammates Jordyn Bruce (3,324) and Olivia Rossman (3,125) placed third and fifth.
Halfway through the men's heptathlon, ISU's Jordan Wilkerson leads with 2,735 points. Teammates James Brandenburg (2,710) and Caleb Miedema (2,684) are second and third.
