Pantagraph area standouts Jaxynn Dyson of Normal West High School and Amanda Fox of Pontiac signed national letters of intent for softball with Illinois State on Wednesday.
The versatile Dyson was signed as a utility player. She has played primarily shortstop at West and is a two-time all-Big 12 Conference and all-state selection.
Dyson, who missed much of last season with an injury, helped West to second place in the Class 4A State Tournament as a freshman.
"Jaxynn is an energetic and spunky player with great leadership abilities," ISU coach Melinda Fischer said. "Her versatility on the defensive side of the ball will be a great asset to our team.
