Illinois State softball coach Melinda Fischer announced the addition of five players Wednesday on the opening day of the November signing period.
Signing National Letters of Intent with the Redbirds were third baseman Andrea Coursey of St. Joseph-Ogden High School, pitcher/outfielder Morgan Day of Tuscola, catcher/shortstop Ashley Emert of East Peoria, catcher/first baseman Brittni LaFountaine of East Moline, and pitcher/infielder/outfielder Spenser Strandgard of Sherrard.
“This class brings great experience and success from competing at a high level in state and national tournaments,” Fischer said. “All are multi-sport athletes who have made a year-round commitment to excelling in everything they do.
