The Illinois State men’s golf team finished second in the Firestone Invitational at Akron, Ohio on Wednesday.
ISU shot a 3-over 291 in the final round to finish with an 11-under 853 total for the 54-hole event. Cincinnati won with an 850 total after carding a 283 on the final day at the par-72, 7,125-yard Firestone Country Club (North Course).
ISU junior Zach Burry tied for eighth with a 4-under 216 (71-67-74) total. Burry carded a 2-over-par 74 in the final round. Freshman David Perkins shot a final-round 72 and tied for 12th at 3-under 213. Sophomore Trent Wallace also had an even-par 72 to finish at 2-over 218.
