Illinois State's men's golf team placed four players in the top 10 Tuesday while winning the 16-team Firestone Invitational at Akron, Ohio.
The Redbirds had a 54-hole total of 859 on the par-72 Firestone Country Club North Course to edge Cincinnati by one stroke. Trent Wallace led the Redbirds in third place, shooting 75 Tuesday to end with a 214 total. He finished six shots behind medalist Austin Squires of Cincinnati (72-208).
Others Redbirds in the top 10 were Zach Burry (72-215) and Andrew O'Brien (72-215) in a tie for fourth, with David Perkins (76-216) in a tie for 10th.
