Junior Rob Wuethrich shot a 4-under-par 68 to earn medalist honors and help Illinois Wesleyan to the title in the Gordin Collegiate Classic on Tuesday at Columbus Country Club in Columbus, Ohio.
No. 2-ranked IWU, the defending champion, fired a 278 in Tuesday's final round for a 24-under 840 total, the tourney's best in 30-plus years, to defeat No. 3 Huntingdon by six strokes.
Wuethrich used four birdies on the back nine to tie his college career best of 68 and overtake second-round leader Drew Mathers of Huntingdon, who shot 75, to win medalist by a stroke.
