The Illinois State softball team completed a weekend sweep of Missouri State on Sunday with a 5-2 win in the series finale at Marian Kneer Stadium.
The sweep, the fourth of the Missouri Valley Conference season for ISU, ups the Redbirds' record to 27-17 overall and 17-3 in the Valley while Missouri State falls to 22-19, 10-10.
ISU would get all the runs it needed with a four-run outburst in the fourth inning. Missouri State responded with two runs in the top of the sixth but the Redbirds would answer with an insurance marker in the bottom of the frame to close out the scoring.
