For the second time in three weeks, a Bradley men’s basketball player is the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week.
Sophomore forward Elijah Childs earned the honor Monday for his role in leading the Braves to the Cancun Challenge Championship and a 3-0 week.
Childs averaged 17.0 points, 8.7 rebounds, two steals and one block, while shooting 62.9 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range.
Named the Cancun Challenge MVP, the 6-foot-7 power forward tallied 19.5 points and 7.5 boards in wins against SMU and Penn State as he helped lead Bradley to its first regular-season tournament title in 35 years and first outside of Peoria since 1966.
