NORMAL — The on-court celebration wasn't enough for Illinois State sophomore Chase Walker.
After the Redbirds snapped an agonizing six-game losing streak to arch rival Bradley with an 82-71 Missouri Valley Conference victory on Wednesday, Walker climbed into the student section to join the party.
"Honestly, I just thought it would be fun. It was pretty fun," Walker said. "Celebrate with them, jump around, do crazy stuff, be a kid, man."
ISU had plenty to celebrate as an inspired crowd of 5,719 watched the Redbirds improve to 16-12 overall and 8-9 in the MVC with their first win over Bradley since Jan.
