NORMAL — Not fond of what she was seeing, Illinois State women's basketball coach Kristen Gillespie called a 30-second timeout with 7:18 remaining Thursday at CEFCU Arena.
It would get worse before it got better for the Redbirds against hard-charging Belmont. Yet it would get better.
"We never wavered," Gillespie said after ISU secured a 66-63 Missouri Valley Conference victory.
"That's something we talk about, just the belief in each other and the belief in what we're doing as a program. And I think that was shown in the fourth quarter."
