SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A chase for a victory ended with a Chase shot for the victory Saturday at Great Southern Bank Arena.
Illinois State sophomore center Chase Walker banked in a short jumper from the lane with 3.8 seconds left to lift the Redbirds to a 70-68 victory over Missouri State before a crowd of 1,853.
The dramatic triumph pushed ISU to 17-12 overall and 9-9 in the Missouri Valley Conference — tied for fifth with Illinois-Chicago — with two games left in the regular season.
