NORMAL — It’s been a slow and steady process.
But the progression of Illinois State sophomore Chase Walker into a dominant player took a powerful step Saturday at CEFCU Arena.
“You’re seeing it before your eyes. He’s becoming a force,” ISU coach Ryan Pedon said after Walker produced career highs of 22 points and 11 rebounds in the Redbirds’ 72-61 win over Pacific.
“I thought he was a real problem in there. He was very efficient. He saw double teams throughout the game and made good decisions.”
Walker hiked his season averages to 14.2 points and 6.
