ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Illinois State baseball junior Tyrelle Chadwick has been named Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Chadwick shut down Western Illinois in Saturday's 10-0 win with seven scoreless innings, requiring 98 pitches and facing 26 batters.
The Kamloops, B.C. native retired the first five Leathernecks before the visitors got their first base runner on a walk in the top of the 2nd.
After retiring 11 of the next 12 batters he faced, Chadwick surrendered his two hits on the afternoon in the top of the 6th with a single and double in consecutive at-bats.
