PEORIA, Ill. -- Senior runner Caitlin Busch (Waterloo, Ill./Freeburg) has been named the Bradley COUNTRY Financial Scholar-Athlete of the Week after breaking the school record in the women’s 3,000 meters at the Gladstein Invitational in Bloomington, Ind.
Busch clocked the top time in the Missouri Valley Conference this indoor season and broke Mary Ellen Hill’s 1999 school record in the event by three seconds with a time of 9:32.55 to finish sixth overall. She improved her career-best 3,000 meter time by 15 seconds. A health science major, Busch owns a 3.77 cumulative grade point average.
