PEORIA — Elijah Childs stood on the sidelines watching the Bradley practice Monday afternoon in his workout togs, wearing his browline style glasses and cheering his teammates on.
Considering the news he’d gotten earlier in the day — that doctors recommended surgery on the re-injured middle finger of his right hand after just one game back on the court — his mood was upbeat.
“It’s very unfortunate, but it’s part of basketball,” he said. “This kind of stuff can happen. It could be worse. I’m trying to look at the positives.
