Brooks Gosswein of the Bradley baseball team was selected in the fourth round of the 2021 Major League Draft by the Chicago White Sox on Monday.
Gosswein – a 22-year old left-handed pitcher – is Bradley's highest draft pick in 15 years as the White Sox selected him 124th overall. Brandon Magee is the last Brave that was taken higher when he was picked 120th during the 2006 draft by the Toronto Blue Jays.
A four-year standout with the Braves, Gosswein appeared in 49 games during his collegiate career, totaling 11 wins on the mound, striking out 139 batters in 167.
