NORMAL — Retired Illinois Wesleyan athletic director and basketball coach Dennie Bridges will be among three inductees Friday into the Bloomington-Normal Officials Association Hall of Fame.
Bridges, who retired last July, had been IWU's athletic director since 1981 and was head basketball coach for 36 years. He retired from coaching following the 2001 season as the winningest active coach in NCAA Division III with a 667-319 record. His 1997 team won the Division III national title.
Also to be inducted is Gary Walter of WJBC Radio and veteran official Robin Roberts.
Walter is the longtime statistics man for WJBC broadcasts of Illinois State football and men's basketball.
