The Bradley men's basketball led wire-to-wire in its foreign trip opener, defeating the Surrey Scorchers of the British Basketball League, 73-66, on Tuesday night.
Sophomore Elijah Childs led the Braves with 20 points and nine rebounds – shooting 9-of-14 from the field – as the Braves dominated the inside in the winning effort. Bradley outrebounded a team made up of professionals, which included a number of former college standouts, by a 52-30 margin. BU collected 25 offensive rebounds in the contest to hold a 12-point edge in second-chance points.
Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye also chipped in 10 points to go with five rebounds and a team-leading five assists as the senior helped the Braves to victory in front of his hometown crowd.
