CHICAGO, Ill. – Bradley Track & Field became the first team since 2003 to sweep the men's and women's 5,000-meter titles at the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championship to highlight Sunday's action at the Track & Field Center at Gately Park.
Freshman Nicola Jansen led from wire-to-wire in the women's 5,000 meters, pulling away from the field midway through to claim the top spot at 16:31.32 as she became the first Brave to win the event dating back to Kristen Busch in 2016. Sophomore Sophia McDonnell finished sixth overall at 16:52.52.
The Braves made it a clean sweep of the 5,000-meter titles with freshman Michael Rebello winning the men's 5K.
