LAFAYETTE, La. – Three Bradley pitchers combined to hold 16th-ranked Louisiana-Lafayette to just one hit and junior Maria Schroeder hit a 2-run homer off ULL All-American hurler Alex Stewart to power the Braves to a 2-1 victory over the Ragin' Cajuns Sunday to conclude the Mardi Gras Classic.
Bradley (9-6 overall) picked up its fifth consecutive victory and earned its first win against a top-25 team since a 2-1 win over 13th-ranked Arizona in Tempe, Ariz., on Feb. 8, 2013.
Louisiana-Lafayette (10-4 overall) entered the game averaging seven runs per game, but Bradley pitchers held the Cajuns hitless until a two-out single in the sixth.
